Ennerdale Bridge village is situated near the Western end of Ennerdale Water; it has a village school, Church and safe play area as well as a national trust office. The village's main industries are now tourism, forestry and agriculture.

The village also has country inns in which to enjoy a quiet drink or stay awhile.

Ennerdale Water supplies the Western Lake Districts high quality drinking water.

Kinniside is a small stone circle on the road that runs between Calder Bridge and Ennerdale Bridge. It is not an original prehistoric site but a modern creation of 11 stones around a circle with an 18 metre diameter. The tallest stone measures 1½ metres high. The stones are set in concrete.

Kinniside stone circle sits by Blakely Rise hill and sometimes goes under the same name. There are views from the circle toward Scotland and Whitehaven.
